Recalling the Future: A conversation with Andrew DeAngelo of Harborside and the Last Prisoner Project (S3-EP04)
Join RJ and Billy McCarthy for Part 1 of a two part conversation as they break down the history of Prop 215 and the realities of Prop 64, aka the California bill that legalized adult use recreational cannabis sales, with none other than Andrew DeAngelo.
Andrew, along with older brother Steve DeAngelo, are best known as the founders of the Oakland-based Harborside Dispensary, now trading on the Canadian market under HBORF.
Having been a part of over a billion dollars in cannabis sales in his lifetime, Andrew delivers a much needed history lesson on what it was like growing up as a consumer of cannabis in the 80s and the impact it had on his career ambitions, along with the creation of Harborside in the early 2000s and its impact on social and cannabis related-initiatives.
One of the initivaties, Last Prisoner Project, is creating major impact in getting pot prisoners released and returned to society.
With Andrew's work to get Prop 64 passed and his subsequent reform efforts, the conversation spends time around the issues plaguing the California supply chain from seed to sale.
Sit back, roll up two joints and get ready for another one of RJ's adventures, this time with cannabis pioneer and advocate Andrew DeAngelo.
